Mt. St. Helens: Ape Caves
The Ape Caves is really just a very long lava tube. However, it's a fun place to visit and is an easy and relatively safe self-guided caving adventure. In the early winter of 2001, Dan and I headed up to explore the cave. Dan's truck made it through the snow to the locked gate and a short hike brought us to the main entrance to the cave. It was really neat to pop out at the far end of the cave completely surrounded by snow. Unfortunately, I didn't get too many pictures of the trip.
